Karma & Apathy
Apathy is a pathetic way to wade through life; not looking to the left or to the right in order to see what is going on around us. Instant news of the day only increases our vision of surrounding events. We are given more opportunities to see past our me me attitudes and look upon our world as though we belong and are a part of every birth and every death and every orbit of the planet. All are One. All are the same dirt of beginnings and endings. Calamity, adversity, mayhem, happiness, good fortune, bad luck or good luck, war time or peace time; these have no fences or walls separating us one from the other. We are all in the frey; common life on common ground.
View the earth and all that is there-in as an extension of The Self. View The Self as an extension of all that is considered Other Than. Always seek for the good in all things. Seek peace in the midst of war, but know that we are both the war and the peace. We are both the darkness and the light. We are the hate and the love. We are the death and the birth, ad infinitum.
Seek Peace; Seek Contentment; Seek Gratitude; Seek Giving; Seek Hope; Seek Love; Seek these attributes and find.

Do solar systems, do galaxies, does a universe have Karma? My personal joke on the matter is usually, “Only the Shadow Knows.”
Evidently, there exists a total cosmic thought consciousness contained in a relatively invisible recently discovered magnetic field that initiates our single and combined actions and realizations utilizing the intelligence factor in the equation that simply ‘IS’ without a timeline as we on earth perceive time.
How did you like that for a paragraph/sentence?
We tap into the thought chitta and unknowingly become (for want of a better description) actively wired to a cosmic hard drive where we enter a set of programmed actions adding our new data to the program. Our thought processes enter into the cosmic data-bank of ’The Is’. A cord of various input and export is struck and Life takes an unexpected Cosmic Turn.
I truly believe we are in the midst of that turn and have come to a place of violent tidal thought and actions that are re-developing what we call Creation. Some have already named this undertow The Apocalyptic Curse.
When this curse of random mayhem arises and gains strength of numbers, good begins to rise in unexpected places and ways. Then there is a line drawn in the sand.
After my last Wordy BLOG, I am now seeking the literary skill of say more with fewer words. How am I doing so far?

Possibly today was the final revision. The entry now is graded as too long.
This New World Post Under-on-Going Construction since 05/01/08: this edit 05/12/08; again on 05/14/08; Today it is May 19th and here I am again, still fixing The World.
During the time of re-editing China has cracked in half. While I was writing this Burma (I like that name better) dropped under water. While I was planning this piece, tornadoes danced all around my children in Virginia and Maryland and my mother in law in Arkansas and my friend in Alabama. Times are getting worse or I just care for more people or we have too much information. Before the China 7.9 quake we had a hole six football fields long and over 250 feet deep form in Liberty County, Texas. Is there a root in Texas reaching further than we imagine? Is it true that if we dig a hole in Texas we will end up in China? We have instant disaster live news reporting. Everything that happens is in our face immediately, rough, un-cut, backed up with satellite reality TV. I see seasoned news commentators at a loss for words with a voice that says, ‘What Next?’ ’Where Next?’ I look on an old globe in an antique store and hold my palm on China. Then with my mind, I draw line through the globe attaching the quake to the Galapagos Islands. I see those islands in my sleep now. Those islands, according to an ancient legend of the third world are the nesting place for the sea turtles which carried the people to safety in a flood that en-undated their homeland. When the water receded, the turtles transformed the inhabitants into eggs and laid them on sandy beaches to hatch in the warm sun and birth the fourth world. Those islands taught Darwin the beginning of the species, changed history and began the science of anthropology. They have long strong roots throughout the planet and I wonder. I just sit here in the middle of technology and wonder.
Writing is all about the wording of one’s thoughts and feelings. The more intense the desire the greater the difficulty in conveying that desire to others on the written page. The following are thoughts on the levels of Change.
All things in motion. Change is a law of Physics in a constant state of Quantum flux.
There is a rather predictable 1000 year pendulum swing, give or take twenty years on either side which sets into motion a cultural change. This change may be psychological, philosophical or an explosive shift in the governing powers. Any one of these three changes will threaten the inhabitants’ familiar understanding of their culture, community and country of origin. The future of the individual and the surrounding population will be measured by how they lived through the changes.
In the global village that we have today, when one country experiences a major cultural change, it will trickle over boarder lines and effect the surrounding cultures. The trickle over will continue as though a slow moving tide.
We humans are either living in the result of change or we find ourselves in the middle of the mayhem of change or we see change coming toward us. We may not know whether to fight or embrace the changes. We may even seek change and then realize we did not want that much of it after all.
Closely examine Change on a far more devastating scale. Consider the measurable repetition of a possible polar axis shift. Bulges on our planet’s surface indicate that this event has occurred at least four times. Now the news is all about the melting of our polar ice caps. This future event would cause devastating consequences to the planet. The island of Fiji could possibly become the new South Pole. Ecologists are quick to set up non-profit organizations receiving astounding environmental monitary rewards for clean up the planet programs.
My question is what caused the other polar shifts? It was not BP and SUVs.
The entire planet shook for the ’06 Christmas Tsunami. The possibility of the next plate shifting and resulting tsunami’s epicenter could easily be located off of the Galapagos Islands.
Every 50,000 years give or a take a 1000 on either side our planet enters a cosmic event; a large multiple meteor strike sailing past Jupiter’s gravitational pull, slamming Earth once again. This will not be recorded in our history. There will be no history.
We realize along with the dinosaurs, “Shit Happens”. Either we do it or it does us.
No matter how we perceive the planet or our place upon it, we must realize that in the myriad of solar systems Earth is expendable. It is egotistical to purport that we are the only intelligent life planet. Some place might actually be more intelligent. Or we might be considered strange food for their hungry world. We could become the Co-Op Farm of some distant solar system.
The function of the cosmos makes our fragile blue rock perishable cargo. The case might be expanded to suggest that Planet Earth becomes a burnt out orb; a large rotating fossil composed of us along with our architectural wonders, and our important catalogued thoughts archived on plastic disks. In an instant all turned into embers, lumps of ash swirling in the void, rings wrapped around a wandering asteroid with a history no one knows.
This planet has had many endings, beginnings and renewals. That has an election worthy positive ring to it; call it a cleansing. But then that would indicate that we actually need the cleansing.
Now we simply cannot have that; can we?
We seek change without discomfort or upsetting our personal apple carts. The consumer mentality of me me thinking; my house, my yard, my stuff, my life falling as a reluctant victim to change is infinitesimal when held up to the mammoth changes that our planet is continuing to experience.
We have traveled together through accounts of Change on a personal level, at our front door step, in our culture, our borders, and our planet. Now look at Change on a cosmic level.
We see one maxim: Change is not to be controlled. Old Man River and Change just keep rolling along.
This planet is our only source of travel through our solar system and we are steadily sucking it dry and creating one big latrine. If we don’t cause The Big One then the abundant supply of methane gas embedded in the earth will cause it. And we keep drilling through the fragile crust at it thinnest places.
A large rogue asteroid could make a slow fly-by and suck away our moon. Did you ever think of that?
Change is always on the way. Hold on tight and remember, we bought the ticket to ride.
I may write and re-write on this one for several more weeks. Every day or two, it is a word or two here and there that comes under scrutiny. Tonight I have been writing on changes for 20 days.

Hello Fellow Seekers,
The End will come. Maybe even in the life time of the children of our baby-boomers. If not the end, then it will certainly be a mammoth change. If it is The Militant Muslims, it will be like the Spanish conquered the Mayans: Every stitch of their language, writings and culture were burned and the inhabitants murdered on their own sacrificial staircase. Not a trace: All done by a Jesuit Priest in the name of the same God that we also happen to call God. The Spanish priest and his Roman Pope felt led to cleanse the world. The Militant Muslims feel led to cleanse the world. Hitler felt led to cleanse the world. The Hebrews felt led to cleanse the world they claimed they owned because that same God, again, gave it to them with instructions. The pioneers felt led to cleanse the world they saw populated with red people instead of white people. The Romans felt led to conquer the world. For the whole of recorded world history this is the way that world has functioned; one blood bath after another. If history cannot conquer in diplomatic assimilation and procreation, it will conquer in over riding extermination of the perceived opposition.
Afghanistan is an emerging third world country torn asunder by a political and religious internal rebellion with forth world technology being used to reduce their own country and then the world to their level of brute force religious thinking. Any nation to accept or succumb will not be to gain their lives. Unfortunately, to understand the technology does not raise the level of any society’s archaic power hungry religiosity. It matters not how many graduated from Oxford and Harvard and Yale; there will always be fresh blood on their Broad Swords. If Cambodia and Vietnam had The Killing Fields, (I still cannot look at a blue plastic trash bag), then Afghanistan has its own Killing Mountain. From its lofty 20,000 feet above sea level perch, the Militant Taliban Muslims see the entire earth as theirs: a far grander vision indeed.
Militants, any where any land any god, are still Thug Lords with big plans enforced with bigger guns. What can be worse than a militant? Easy, a religious militant.
Take some time to read or see The Kite Runner: the other side of Afghanistan.
Our swords are not clean either. In the ancient world of wars, the opponents were simply put to death. The old way of the Hebrews going into and taking over the total expanse of Canaan Land utilizing rules of warfare, which are followed unto this very day, as we witness on the evening nightly news. All inhabitants were killed along with all their young, their cattle sheep, crops, and abodes. The Kurds, I believe they were: The Iraq way. Extinct !! It is the favorite word of both the sons of Abraham, Isaac and Ishmael. The apples do not fall far from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
A ‘we have the answer and you don’t’ belief system does not sit down for peace talks. So do not be smug on this issue. During the Crusades, the glorious be-knighted men of England, Whales, France, became the deliverers from evil and slaughtered the Muslims village by village, town by town. The Clueless Crusaders wiped out one entire city before they understood they were killing Christian converts. But they were dressed just like the Muslims. During that time, it was the infernal heat of the land that dictated the clothing, not the belief system. Besides, all that flapping fabric they wore cooled off the camels. They were thinking ‘green’ even then. Laurence found the dress quite comfortable and came to accept it over the alternative heat stroke attire of England. Also, Jesus and Mary the mother, and Mary the aunt and that other Mary dressed like that also.
Laurence of Arabia is an excellent teaching movie and should be viewed once a year in light of today’s events. An excellent eye opener teaching book is The Red Tent.
The Militant Minded Muslims do not forgive and forget. They never have, they never will. It is not in their code. They are the sons of Abraham.
This is a bloody world, it always has been; it always will be. It may look like a peaceful lovely blue planet from outer space, but down here below the ozone we are blood red. If we are not killing each other, we are killing the planet.
At this point, please notice that I have not even started on Big Boy, Fat Boy, a plane named Enola Gay, or the two politically, religiously and strategically chosen cities of Japan.
I have not entered into the 21st Century world wide political white washing of The Empire of China maintaining a select population of human beings given numbers for names and holding the social status of expendable worker-bees for commerce and gennypigs for science. With an accelerated pace The Empire attempts to convert Tibet into an Olympic Tourist Tibet ethnically cleansed in time for fun and games.
Hate mail flooding cyber space airwaves is not helping solve the problem. Think tanks comprised of fiction writers and the CIA end up on the Best Seller List and we die. Kill or be killed palm held games (rated PG) are teaching our children the strategies of killing. But: Bless God “No Child Left Behind”. Pass out the Kill Bill Games. Where will it all end: In the Paint Ball Field?
And what do we have in America to prove to the world we have something better? We have The Yearning for Zion Ranch. Jesus, God All Mighty, Help Us.
An Unsettling Update:
Pakastan in this time, August 2008, Two women and three teenage girls were shot by Muslim governing body and then buried alive because they wanted to marry at their own choice of a husband. This was in accord with a carried out order of certain fundamentalis Muslim sect upholding the laws and beliefs of Muslim teaching. They are still doing it. Anyone anxious to join these believers?
